Jaroslava Prihodova is a visual artist, designer, and curator whose interdisciplinary practice centers on the object, materiality, and the relationships between art, design, and science. Her curatorial and collections practice is informed by a background in studio art, sculpture, art handling, fabrication, conservation framing, and exhibition installation. She served as Director of Dowd Gallery at SUNY Cortland, Cortland, NY, and has collaborated with Krásná Práce, an interdisciplinary project based in Prague, Czechia.
Prihodova’s work emphasizes sustainable exhibition design, long-term collection care,
accessibility, and professional museum standards. Her approach to curating and collections
is grounded in close attention to materials, processes, context, and the ways objects
communicate across disciplines.
Prihodova holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in
Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic, where she studied in the Studio of Natural Materials,
and a Master of Fine Arts from Syracuse University, where she studied Jewelry and
Metalsmithing.
