The Austin Peay Parent (Family) Association (APPA) is an organization of parents and family members of Austin Peay students established to assist students and families during the first year at APSU, and to provide ongoing support during their college experience at Austin Peay.  The APPA has nearly 1475 members and is coordinated in the office of Student Affairs.

To join the APSU parent/family association, please complete the online APPA Membership Form and submit.  Most communication is accomplished by e-mail.  There is no cost to join!

UPCOMING IMPORTANT DATES


July 28                Fee statements posted to students' accounts on 
                                OneStop; student's should check their email
July 28-Aug 15  Students may pay fees at Cashier window or
                                 online through OneStop
August 15          Last day to pay fees in person at Cashier window 
                               by 4 p.m.
August 17          Last day to pay fees online on OneStop by 9 p.m.
August 21          Housing check-in for freshmen resident students
                               only - 8 am - 3 p.m.
August 24          Last day for all resident students to claim resident
                                hall assignment
August 25          
Fall semester classes begin, main campus
August 26          Last day to add a class; last day to submit fee
                               waiver for fall semester to Bursar's office
Sept. 1                Labor Day Holiday - University closed
Sept. 7                Last day to drop a class without a record (student's
                               should contact academic adviser and financial
                               aid prior to dropping classes)
                           Last day to receive a 75% fee adjustment

Confirmation of Classes:  Student's must confirm classes every semester by the published deadline.  If confirmation is incomplete, the student will lose their classes, and may not be able to reregister for the same classes as sections will likely be full. The APPA will strive to:

  • Enable families to more actively participate in the college life of their student
  • Interact with and support the family members of other new and returning students
  • Serve as a communication link between the University and families of first-time students
  • Provide feedback to the University about concerns or make suggestions regarding the transition of their student to the college environment
  • Promote APSU in their local community
  • Partner with the University to enhance the likelihood of their student's success

Members receive updates on important deadlines and other information to assist their students in transitioning and persisting in their University life.

All parents and families, whether they join the parents association or not, will receive support and assistance from the Office of Student Affairs and the University.  We are dedicated to the partnership with our parents and families to support you and your student throughout your APSU experience!

Some of the things our association members participated in this past year included volunteering and helping new students and families check into residence halls in the fall, attending athletic multiple athletic events, attending awards ceremonies, joining us for Homecoming festivities, experiencing Family Weekend events, communicating via facebook and email, visiting campus, attending speakers and performances including the Peay Read speaker event, and more!
