Red Mud Review

The Red Mud Review is a student-run literary magazine dedicated to promoting the creative works of emerging writers and artists.

About the Red Mud Review

Although the editorial team, style, and length change every year, Red Mud Review remains committed to promoting a diverse array of creative works since 1951. For almost 75 years, the Red Mud Review has cultivated transformative expressions and experiences–especially for students–in Tennessee and beyond through the publication of our magazine and by hosting university and community events.

The Red Mud Review believes that being published for the first time is a life-changing experience. For this reason, we encourage new creators and students to submit their work.

Our Mission

The Red Mud Review is a student-run literary magazine dedicated to promoting the best creative endeavors from both established and emerging writers and artists. Each work we publish is an alluvial stone that has been polished in the rich red mud of our origin, the clay of Tennessee riverbanks where our writers and artists take root.
