See President Whiteside’s last Facebook, Instagram livestream

Austin Peay Interim President Dannelle Whiteside delivered a live message on Facebook and Instagram on Wednesday, Feb. 24. You can see her message in the video below. She discussed the latest COVID-19 numbers and trends affecting campus.

“The numbers of people in our community who are getting vaccinated are going up and the numbers of cases in the community are going down,” she said. “That’s a good sign that we hope will continue.”

She also confirmed that the vaccines are on their way to Austin Peay and will arrive on Thursday. The University will administer the vaccines to those in the community who sign up for an appointment at the state’s website. Austin Peay’s vaccination site will open on March 2.

She also reminded viewers that the first home football game is at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Governors host Tennessee State. Visit www.letsgopeay.com for more information.

This also marks her last livestream. Austin Peay welcomes its new president, Dr. Michael Licari, on Monday.

“Give him a warm welcome, I know you will make him feel part of the Austin Peay family,” she said. “We look forward to him joining us.

“It has been a pleasure serving you and getting us through this trying time that we have been through, but we are so much stronger,” she added. “It has just been an honor.”
