Emmanuel Mejeun, Director
Background Mr. Emmanuel Mejeun, Program Director for the Full Spectrum Learning (FSL) Program
at APSU, started working with FSL in 2015. He is a certified teacher with extensive
experience working with children and young adults on the Autism Spectrum in the Clarksville-Montgomery
County School System and at APSU. His dedication was recognized in 2017 with the Certified
Learning Center Professional - Level 2 Certification from the NCLCA. He also earned
his Advanced Autism Specialist certifications from IBCCES. Originally from Haiti,
Mr. Mejeun is pursuing a Doctorate in Education at APSU, focusing on autism support
in Higher Education. In his “free” time, he enjoys performing music with the local
musical ensembles. Selena Hutchenson, Program Coordinator
Background Selena Hutchenson, Program Coordinator for Full Spectrum Learning, joined the team
in Fall 2025 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Marketing concentration)
from Middle Tennessee State University. Her extensive experience spans both corporate
and nonprofit sectors, including roles as Residential Program Manager at Samaritan
Village, Program Coordinator and Assistant Program Manager at Jobs Partnership of
Florida where she oversaw the LifeWorks program, and Residential Case Manager at Kissimmee
Youth Academy. Selena excels at cross-organizational collaboration to plan, promote,
and deliver training solutions that align with organizational goals while enhancing
participant success. She creates interactive, engaging learning environments and is passionate about fostering
growth through an "E3" culture, adopted from her mentors—emphasizing Efficiency, Effectiveness,
and Excellence. Guided by her life mantra, "good enough is never enough," Selena brings
unwavering excellence to her work and volunteer service with Toastmasters International,
Resilience Community Network, Orlando Union Rescue Mission, and Dress for Success
Greater Orlando. Known for her unique laugh, she brings warmth, authenticity, and
energy to every space she enters. Dr. Jena Collins, Support Specialist Coordinator
Background Dr. Jena Collins serves as the FSL Support Specialist and earned her Doctorate in
Higher Education from Austin Peay State University in August, 2025. She also holds
a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and a Master’s in Educational Leadership
from the University of Mount Union. Her diverse professional background includes serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Leadville,
Colorado, where she supported students through after-school tutoring, mentoring, and
meal programs. She also worked as a Communities That Care (CTC) Coordinator, leading
a coalition focused on youth prevention and community wellness. A licensed educator,
Dr. Collins has taught special education in grades 3–12 for five years. She later served as a behavior coach with a Head Start program, where she trained
teachers on effective strategies for supporting children with autism and addressing
challenging behaviors. Certified in Mental Health First Aid (2024), Dr. Collins is
passionate about empowering students to advocate for themselves and thrive in their
educational journey. Jena and her husband moved to Clarksville in 2021 and love spending time outdoors
with their two mountain dogs—especially hiking to Tennessee’s scenic waterfalls, always
topped off with homemade ice cream! Angela Gordon, Mentor Coordinator
Background As the Mentor Coordinator for the Full Spectrum Learning (FSL) program at Austin Peay
State University, Angela Gordon designs and oversees mentorship initiatives that promote
student leadership, academic success, and community engagement. By collaborating with
campus partners and student leaders, she fosters an inclusive and supportive environment,
with a strong commitment to empowering individuals within the college community to
grow both personally and professionally. Thomas Spence, Community Relations Coordinator
Background Thomas Spence is the Community Relations Coordinator for the Full Spectrum Learning
Center at APSU, where he fosters partnerships that support neurodivergent student
success. Prior to joining APSU, he served as Crisis Diversion Supervisor for the Mental
Health Cooperative in Nashville and is a U.S. Army Special Operations veteran. He
holds two master's degrees—one in Psychology and one in Strategic Security—and brings
a strong background in mental health, outreach, and advocacy to his role. Outside of work, Thomas enjoys spending time with his family and four dogs, cycling
the trails and roads in Tennessee and Kentucky, and crafting functional stoneware
pottery. JD Laster, Learning Specialist
Background JD Laster serves as the FSL Learning Specialist at Austin Peay State University. He
holds a Master’s in K-12 Educational Leadership from Campbellsville University and
a Bachelor’s in Middle Grades Science Education from Western Kentucky University.
JD brings a wealth of experience from his career in K-12 education, where he served
as a middle school science teacher, College and Career Coordinator, and Student Support
Coordinator. Passionate about guiding students toward their goals, JD is known for
his positive and upbeat attitude. He lives in Clarksville with his wife, Chelsey,
and their two daughters, Everleigh and Jagger. In his free time, JD enjoys traveling,
visiting NBA arenas, and looks forward to retiring one day in Eugene, Oregon.

Angela holds a bachelor's degree in Special Education and brings over seven years
of experience working in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Since 2012, she has been
dedicated to supporting the special needs community through education, advocacy, and
direct service.

Graduate Assistants
Jessie Meehan
Background Jessie Meehan is the GA Support Specialist Assistant for FSL. She has been in this
role since Fall 2024. She is a graduate student in APSU’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling
program. She completed a Bachelor’s dual degree in Psychology and Theatre Arts – Costuming
in 2022. She has a passion for helping others find success and happiness. Jessie
has previously worked in mental health roles where she supported the needs of children
and families through difficult times and connected them with community resources. Outside of work, Jessie enjoys working on music, painting, and sewing. She also spends
a lot of time with her golden retriever! Madison Eldridge
Background I am originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, where I was born and raised. I attended the
University of Oregon for my undergraduate degree, then I moved again to Clarksville
in pursuit of my Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master's. I was drawn to become
a graduate assistant with FSL after getting a minor in disabilities studies and desiring
to continue supporting and advocating for neurodivergent individuals. This is now
my second year with FSL, and I love working with this program and being a part of
its growth! When I'm not at school, I am spending time with my puppy, reading, or
making sourdough. I'm looking forward to this year with my students and my team! Patricia Bandol
Background Patricia Bandol is the Graduate Assistant to the Learning Specialist. She is currently
pursuing a degree in Master of Arts in Teaching: Teaching K-8 Special Education Interventionst.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Santo Tomas
in Manila, Philippines on 2019. On the same year, she qualified as a Registered Psychometrician
under the Professional Regulation Commission of the Republic of the Philippines, as
well as contributed a study published in the North American Journal of Psychology,
specifically on LGBTQ+ research. With prior experience as a brain trainer, Patricia
is passionate and deeply committed to supporting students with special needs, fostering
their academic growth, and guiding them toward fulfilling and successful lives. Hailey Mason
Background Hailey Mason joined the Full Spectrum Learning (FSL) Program as a Graduate Assistant
in Fall 2025, following her graduation from Austin Peay State University with a bachelor’s
degree in psychology in 2024. She brings more than four years of experience in crisis
intervention and therapeutic support, making her a valuable resource for the students
she serves. A U.S. Military Veteran who served from 2004 to 2016, Hailey offers unique insight
into the challenges faced in high-stress environments. This background, combined with
her professional expertise, allows her to connect deeply with students and provide
meaningful guidance. Hailey is passionate about fostering mental well-being and resilience within the FSL
community. Her dedication ensures that students receive the comprehensive care and
support they need to overcome obstacles and succeed both academically and personally. Raymond Datugan
Background Raymond Datugan serves as a Graduate Assistant and Case Manager with the Full Spectrum
Learning program. He received his BFA in Graphic Design from Austin Peay in 2007 and
is now pursuing a Master’s in Counseling with a focus on Clinical Mental Health. Ray
believes that every student has unique strengths, and he is passionate about walking
alongside them as they navigate challenges and achieve their goals. He is excited
to be part of FSL, supporting students in creating meaningful, fulfilling college
experiences. Amanda Perkins
Background Amanda Perkins joined the team in Fall of 2025 as a Graduate Assistant. She has a
Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in Professional Education from Austin Peay
State University, and is currently working on a Master's Degree in School Counseling.
She worked for four-and-a-half years as a high school English teacher, and aspires
to be a school counselor, preferably at the elementary level. Amanda brings a strong
passion for education and student support. She is committed to fostering meaningful
learning experiences and helping students thrive, both academically and personally.
Outside of work, she enjoys fashion, cooking, spending time in nature, and connecting
with family and friends. She is excited about the year ahead with FSL, and believes
it is always a great day to be a Gov! Isaiah Jones
Background Isaiah Jones is the Graduate Assistant for the Full Spectrum Learning Program at Austin
Peay State University. A recent graduate with a BBA in Marketing and a Minor in Management,
Isaiah first joined the program as a participant and now serves as a mentor and leader.
He has also supported student success through roles with the Adult Non-Traditional
Transfer Student Center and TRIO Student Support Services, gaining experience in outreach,
event planning, and one-on-one support. Recognized with honors including the Dean’s
List and the Distinguished Behavior Award, Isaiah is passionate about marketing strategy,
student engagement, and creating inclusive programs that connect people and opportunities.
