WAPX-FM/Magic 91.9

WAPX-FM, Magic 91.9 MHz, is Austin Peay State University's noncommercial radio station and broadcast service of the Department of Communication. The station is managed by David von Palko, J.D., an award-winning news broadcaster with commercial radio experience.

WAPX-FM is affiliated with NBS-AERho, the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters, and The Broadcast Education Association. Magic 91.9 operates 24/7 with public affairs, news, sports and music programming serving the Clarksville-Montgomery County community. Austin Peay State University students work on-air and complete audio production assignments for public service and promotional announcements on the station.

APSU-TV

APSU-TV is a program with state-of-the-art digital studios and master control located in the Music and Mass Communication building and sports broadcasting complex in the Dunn Center. APSU-TV features student-produced shows. Find us on CDE Lightband 9, Spectrum 192 and U-Verse 99 throughout middle Tennessee. 

APSU-TV offers locally-produced news, public affairs, sports broadcasts and special events (including APSU Commencement broadcasts and high school graduation ceremonies). Some programming is also streamed online.

APSU-TV is capable of producing high definition television programming and provides Broadcast Media and Media Technology students an opportunity to work with video productions starting their freshmen year at Austin Peay.

Kathy Lee Heuston (leek@apsu.edu), department chair, serves as the general manager of APSU-TV, and Steve Sawyer (sawyercs@apsu.edu) serves as the operations coordinator. Students work as directors, news broadcasters, weather broadcasters, sports anchors and broadcast technicians.
