Group Tour Reservations

Bring your school or community group to visit Austin Peay! We are excited to offer group tours of our campus to middle and high school aged students. Group tours consist of a presentation by an Admissions counselor and a walking tour of our campus, including areas of interest such as academic departments, university recreation, housing, and more! Our group tours are free of charge. If you would like your students to eat on campus, we would be happy to discuss dining options with you and connect you with our catering office. If you have questions about our group tours, please contact Nora Beerman at beermann@apsu.edu or 931-221-6865.

Please note that this registration is for sanctioned groups.

Group Tour FAQs

What age groups can attend group tours?

We typically offer group tours to students going into 6th grade or older. If you would like to bring a younger group of students to campus, please contact our office to discuss options.

How many students can I bring?

We do not have a capacity limit for our group tours. In order to provide a great experience for your students, we prefer to keep our ratio to 25 students per 1 tour guide. If you are bringing a fairly large group of students, you may have to travel around campus in bigger groups, depending on tour guide availability.

What are our dining options on campus?

There are a couple of different options for dining on campus! If you would like to purchase lunch, we can coordinate your communication with our catering department to either order boxed lunches or send your students through our cafeteria. If you are bringing a group of 50 or more, we will have to stagger your lunchtime in our cafeteria to accommodate regular campus lunch traffic. Alternately, we can arrange for your students to have a room on campus to eat if you would like to bring your own lunch.

Where do we park?

Students will be dropped off at the Ellington Building at 331 Drane St. Buses will continue to the end of Drane St. and park at Pettus Park. A map and more detailed directions will be provided when your tour is reserved.

What about inclement weather?

It is our policy to take tours our rain or shine. We will only cancel tours in the event of an active severe weather warning or inclement weather that closes campus. We will notify groups of inclement weather cancellations as soon as we have the information available.

How long does our tour last? Is it all outside?

The entire tour (including the admissions presentation) typically lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. This mostly depends on how interactive your students are. This is a walking tour and it does take place mostly outside. Please make sure students wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. If you would like to eat on campus, you should plan a 3 hour visit to ensure your students get the entire tour experience and have a comfortable amount of time for lunch.
