Now open to children in 3rd grade through 8th grade (age 8 - 13)
This is a new and exciting program that we hope will become a premier performing organization in the community. Participants will perform as an elite youth choir, and will also perform on standard harmony instruments, as well as non-traditional instrumental pieces, and world percussion. While this is primarily a performing ensemble, practices will include music reading, listening, and musical and vocal development. This ensemble will also be an excellent primer for students who may be interested in singing in a choir or playing a band instrument when they reach middle or high school.
A rehearsal and performance calendar will be available at the start of the semester. As an example of what to expect, in the fall, the choir performed at The Country Music Hall of Fame, and The Adventure Science Center. In the spring, there may be opportunities to perform at the anual conference of the Tennessee Music Education Association, a Concert in the Park, a formal concert in the Mabry Concert Hall on the campus of APSU, and many more.
For this semester, no audition is required; although, as the group grows in number and in quality, auditions will be required for new and incoming participants. For now, if your children meet the age requirements, are interested in singing in a top-level choir, and can sing in-tune with a pleasing voice, we hope you will encourage them to join. Lastly, all participants will be expected to adhere to the participation agreement and code of conduct described below.
Rehearsals are on Mondays from 4:00 to 6:00, beginning January 23 and continuing until April 17 (12-week session). The cost is $35.00 for the first child, and $25.00 for each additional sibling. Classes meet in Rm. 147 of the Music/Mass Communications Building on the Campus of Austin Peay State University.

New Choir Directors
We would like to wish our choir director Mrs. Ross a farewell as she and her husband move to east Tennessee. Mrs. Ross has been part of the Homeschool program and Camp Granada for many years and she will be missed. As we transition to the spring semester, we welcome our two new directors, Ms. Susannah White, and Ms. Briana Owen. Both are vocal music education majors at APSU and your children may recognize them from their work as Camp Granada leaders.
