I am active member of ACUHO- I, SEAHO and TACUHO. Our department is committed to making sure the on campus experience is a positive one not only for the student, but their entire family.
Oversees long range planning, goals, and objectives for entire office. Development and management of Housing budget, master plan, marketing plan, and departmental assessment plan. Facility management of Housing projects. AP Day/Summer Welcomes. Supervision of professional and support staff for office. Develop and oversee residential communities to create engaging learning environments. Development and implementation of dept crisis and risk management plan.
Supervisor of Residence Life staffing/programs/living learning communities. CHO in absence of Director. Direct Supervisor of the AC Staff. Hearing Officer for formal discipline. Coordinator of contract release and damage appeals process. AP Days/Summer Welcomes presentations. Manages the programming budget. Early arrival and late stay approval. Survey creation and Data Collection for Residence Life. Movie and Info Channel oversight.
Assistant Director of Housing Operations
Currently, I supervise one clerical staff and a Data Analyst. Other job responsibilities includes: overseeing main campus housing assignments, overseeing Residential Management System (RMS) management software, implementation of emergency housing bid; overflow housing/contract administration; coordinating athletic housing with coaches; overseeing housing department’s Great Change Day /Room Change Administration, overseeing correct execution of occupancy reports, and the processing of resident housing cancellations/withdrawals.
Assistant Director of Housing & Dining Services
Cecil graduated from Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and a Concentration in Accounting. After several years of work in the corporate accounting field, Cecil returned to Austin Peay in 2009 to serve as the Assistant Director of Housing Services. This wasn’t the first time he worked for APSU Housing. As a student, Cecil served for several years as a Resident Assistant (RA) in Rawlins Hall and Harvill Hall. Right before returning to Austin Peay in 2009, Cecil fulfilled a life-long dream of working and living in Samoa, a small Pacific island chain nation in the South Pacific Ocean. While there he learned a lot of the language and culture that makes Samoa so unique among the Pacific Islands. Coming from a military family, Cecil has lived in several different places including Hawaii and Germany. He loves to travel, especially internationally. A recent trip took him to Italy where he visited Rome, Venice, Pisa and Florence.
I graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Master’s Degree. I joined Austin Peay since December 2011 and work in the office of Housing/Residence Life & Dining Services.
Management of guest apartments. RHD Supervision (documentation, employee discipline). Assignments/Billing for Emerald Hill apartments. Create/revise notes for living – Emerald Hill/Marion Street. Student Staff selection and payroll (HR paperwork, loading of scholarships) RHD’s and RA’s. 24 hour on call rotation. Teach RA class. Informal discipline hearing/files. Hiring/Supervision of Emerald Hill office workers. Assist in staff training.
Administrative Assistant III, CAP
Main office receptionist. One card – housing access (key/swipe card). Key (loaner) inventory/on-line system. In house work orders – submit, process. Marketing plans, ALL STATE Ads, Powerpoint presentations, other media assigned by AVP/Dir. Residency Exemption forms/correspondence. COS minutes- creation and distribution. Room reservationist ML 109/111. Prepare leave reports for entire office/Foy/CLC for AVP approval. Special projects for AVP.
Administrative Assistant II
I am native of Cadiz, Kentucky; has served as Administrative Assistant 3 for the College of Business for 7 years and currently serving as Administrative Assistant 2 for Housing/Residence Life & Dining Services over 3 years for a total of over 10 years; serving in ministry for over 27 years; served as Church Evangelist 17 years; District Evangelist 5 years and Associate Pastor for 2 years; currently serving as a local Pastor for over 3 years. My responsibilities in the Housing consist of the following: Open and close judicial cases of housing residents, process contract releases, update and maintain central office manual.
Trouble-shoot and repair Dining Services equipment. Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections. Serve as point of contact for all Dining Services contracted work. Install and maintain new equipment. Test and operate all equipment. Maintain exhaust fans and vents for Dining Services. Maintain Dining Services plumping lines. Maintain Dining Services equipment inventory. Determine any need for replacing old equipment.
