Banner Contest

Student organizations decorate homecoming themed banners to be displayed during the week in the Morgan University Center.  Sponsored by the Student Organization Council (SOC).  Judging begins at 9:00 a.m.

Lobby Decorating Contest

Academic and administrative offices will compete for a best spirited lobby.  Judging begins at 2:00 p.m.

Homecoming Concert

7:00 p.m., Red Barn.  Featuring Big Sean. Main campus students (residential, commuter, and online main campus) can pick-up tickets beginning Wednesday, October 11th with valid APSU I.D.  Faculty, staff, online students, and Fort Campbell students may purchase tickets (if available) beginning Wednesday, October 19th.  Main campus students may purchase one additional ticket at this time for the same price.  Any remaining tickets will be available for the community to purchase beginning Thursday, October 20th. Sponsored by Govs Programming Council (GPC).

Fight Song Competition

Noon, MUC plaza (rain location: Red Barn).  Student organizations perform APSU’s fight song, “Smash! Bang!” in the traditional manner as well as a creative version based on the 2011 Homecoming theme.  This is truly an event not to miss!

Homecoming T-shirt Distribution

Noon, MUC plaza (rain location: Red Barn).  Main campus students can pick-up their complimentary homecoming T-shirt.  Sponsored by Student Government Association.

Cretaceous Craziness with Housing

5:30 p.m., Castle Heights Courtyard.  Join us for fun and games and the chance to make your own Homecoming decorations.  Sponsored by Housing/Residence Life, (931) 221-7444.

7:00 p.m., Red Barn.  Free and open to the public.  Students amaze the audience with their talents.  Sponsored by Govs Programming Council (GPC).

5:00 p.m., Red Barn.  Student organizations participate in the traditional step-off competition.

Immediately following the Step-off in the Red Barn, the 2011 Homecoming court will be announced.   

 

Friday, October 28

Pep Rally/Cookout

Noon, MUC plaza (rain location: Red Barn).  Free and open to APSU main campus.  Come and participate in the pep rally while enjoying lunch.  Scheduled appearances include:  APSU head coach Rick Christophel, the Governors Own Marching Band, cheer and pom squads, and the Gov himself.  Sponsored by Athletics and Student Life and Leadership. 

 

T-Shirt Swap

Noon, MUC plaza (rain location: Red Barn).  Students can bring another article of clothing bearing the name of another university and trade it for a new APSU GOVS shirt!  All clothing items collected will be donated to Goodwill.

Homecoming Parade

1:00 p.m., (Eighth Street, down College Street, N. Second Street, Marion Street, back to campus).  Free and open to the public.  APSU and the Clarksville community gather together to celebrate Homecoming 2011.  Come see one of the largest parades in recent history!

 

Homecoming Game – APSU vs. Eastern Illinois

4:00 p.m., Governors Stadium.  Open to the public. Presentation of the 2011 Homecoming King and Queen and court announced at halftime.  The Red Bowl competition champions will also be announced. For admission prices, please contact Athletics Ticket Office, (931) 221-7761.

 

NPHC Step Show
