What is University Advancement?

Mission Statement

The mission of University Advancement is to build and maintain a donor base that will make a difference in the lives of students, faculty, and staff today and for the future.  This enables the university to fulfill its educational mission by augmenting current budgets and building on the university's endowments.

What we do

The University Advancement staff is here to help you support the University through a variety of ways to give. Here are some examples:

  • Cash donations
  • Annual gifts (i.e., automated payroll, bank or credit card donations)
  • Estate planning (Donating land, buildings or property such as works of art, etc.)
  • Commodity gifts such as stocks and investments
  • Equipment donations
  • Donation of services such as printing, advertising, etc.
  • Company gift matching

Besides having many ways to give, there are also special times or efforts for you to give to such as the Candlelight Ball, Capital Campaigns, and biannual Phonathon.

Supporting specific areas

You also can give to specific efforts or areas of the University. The Woodward Library Society, APSU Foundation, Govs and Lady Govs Athletics and the General Scholarship Fund are just a few of the many ways to provide financial support to specific areas.
