Additional APSU Requirements and degree information:

  • Minor (18 hours): Choose any minor offered by the University.
  •  Guided Electives (22 hours): May be  taken from any college/university.  Note: 39 hours of required courses must be upper division (3000-4000 level).
  • Lower division courses can substitute for upper division courses at APSU. However, students must earn a total of 39 upper division hours in order to receive the BS degree in Criminal Justice/Homeland Security at APSU.  These hours can be obtained by selecting a minor that requires upper division hours or by taking additional upper division electives.
  • This course covers criminal evidence at both the federal and the state levels at VSCC.
  • If a student has more than eight (8) CRMJ courses, they would be counted as electives at APSU.
  • VSCC AS students are advised to take INFS 1010 (Computer Applications - 1 hour).  This course meets the VSCC Computer literacy requirement and will be counted as an elective by APSU.
  • APSU 1000 is required unless a student transfers in 12+ hours of college credit to APSU.
