APSU's QEP - Peay Composed

Launched in the Fall 2024 semester, Peay Composed helps improve students’ writing outcomes across the curriculum. It consists of various activities and initiatives that support students’ writing, metacognition, and self-regulation, culminating in the implementation of innovative and effective pedagogical approaches and integrated student support resources to teach and assess writing in Peay Composed courses.
The essential components of Peay Composed include:
-
Faculty communities of practice (any academic discipline)
-
Integrating student support resources and pedagogical best practices in Peay Composed courses
-
Developing and implementing various institutional initiatives, all designed to support the student learning outcomes of Peay Composed.
Student Learning Outcomes

Peay Composed courses are taught by faculty who have participated in a community of practice where they have thoughtfully reflected on the course, the learning outcomes, and ways they can better support students with their course writing assignments. Through this process, faculty will develop a pedagogical action plan to help students.
Peay Composed has a variety of institutional initiatives that support student writing. These include drop-in writing support and study events during the semester that are both fun and academically supportive. Peay Composed aims to showcase good student writing and good faculty practices while destigmatizing student support and help-seeking by promoting the value of peer review and revision.
