Why Sports Communication

The global sports world is ever-evolving and expanding and so to are the opportunities for sports communication majors.  At APSU, you’ll gain four valuable years of training and preparation that will help you excel in the world’s most exciting field.

Our majors can “hit the ground running” the minute they arrive on campus as freshman.  Live sports production experience and scholarships are available Day One by joining our Austin Peay Sports Network (APSN) production team.  Opportunities are available for camera operators, audio engineers, graphics operators, replay technicians and more. 

Interested in radio?  Become a play-by-play broadcaster, analyst, sideline reporter or host on WAPX-FM. 

Want to start a sports talk show, host a podcast, announce APSU and area high school sports?  Join the student-produced programming on APSU-TV’s cable and YouTube channels.
