APSU Board of Trustees to host quarterly meetings on March 17

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – On March 17, the Austin Peay State University Board of Trustees will host its quarterly meetings throughout the day at 317 College St. on campus.

The day will begin with the board’s Academic Affairs Committee meeting at 8:15 a.m., followed by the Student Affairs Committee, the Executive Committee, the Business and Finance Committee and the Audit Committee meetings consecutively thereafter. At the end of its agenda, the Audit Committee will adjourn to have a non-public, executive session.

The full board will meet at 10:15 a.m. or at the conclusion of the Audit Committee executive session, whichever is later. The board will discuss several items, including the proposed creation of Austin Peay’s seventh college – the University College.

APSU to consider undergraduate tuition increase during June 9 board meeting

The proposed combined undergraduate tuition and mandatory fee increase of 3.0% is within the range approved by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) for the upcoming academic year. Revenue derived from the increase would be used to offset the effective economic inflation rate of 10.5% since the last tuition increase in June 2021 and for the University's portion of the state's salary increase.

APSU partners with Workforce Essentials on Summer Youth Employment Program

Starting July 1, all Tennessee residents ages 14-24 will be eligible for the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), which has allocated $15 million to participating employers across the state. APSU's current and potential student workers are encouraged to get involved, and they can earn up to $3,200 over six weeks while gaining practical experience.
