APSU sets fundraising goal of $200,000 for third annual Govs Give online giving campaign

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Beginning April 8, Austin Peay State University will launch Govs Give, its third annual 72-hour online giving event. The goal for this year’s campaign is to collect $200,000 for the APSU colleges’ Funds of Excellence, along with funds for athletics and student affairs. These innovation funds allow deans and directors in academic and student areas to provide students with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed. The Govs Give campaign will begin at noon April 8 and end at noon on April 11.

In 2018, the campaign surpassed its goal for the second-consecutive year, collecting $172,208 for various initiatives in many different areas. The total impact of Govs Give is currently $325,000 raised and 250 new donors recruited in the last two years.

This year, any gift up to $250 for any designation will receive a matching amount to be given to that area. There is an overall limit of $100,000 available in matching gifts. Generous Govs Give Champions in every area will contribute to the funds for matching gifts. Matching gifts of up to $250 will be made per designation, per person. Gifts, which are multiple or single transactions, made to a single designation by one person, will only be matched up to $250. For example, $5 will become $10, $250 will become $500 and $500 will become $750.

Companies with matching gift programs have the power to triple their employees’ donations. Donors can view the list of organizations that qualify for the matching gift program by using the helpful “Employer Matching Gift” tool at the bottom of the online giving form or by speaking to their human resources departments.
