CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. —Austin Peay State University (APSU) announced today that every one of its 17 GOVing Tuesday fundable projects was fully funded by the close of the campaign on Dec. 2—with an additional $12,000 raised beyond the goal to support Funds of Excellence across participating areas. In total, the campaign raised $75,670.36—the highest dollar amount and the greatest number of gifts in GOVing Tuesday history.
“This year’s results show how powerfully our community rallies around our students, faculty and programs,” said Kris Phillips, APSU’s vice president of Alumni, Engagement and Philanthropy. “Because of our donors, all projects will move from plans to reality, and the surplus will amplify impact where it’s needed most.”
GOVing Tuesday’s fundable project format continues to drive transparent, donor-directed
support for initiatives spanning academics, athletics and student services. This year’s
campaign included projects that strengthen safety and learning, expand accessibility
for military‐affiliated students, and deepen community outreach.
“Before we launched GOVing Tuesday’s project-based format, gifts during Giving Tuesday
were applied across dozens of funds—generous, but too dispersed to drive visible change,”
said Sam Mynhier, APSU’s senior director of sponsorships and annual giving. “By focusing
support on clearly defined, campus-driven projects, donors now see their impact. In
our fourth year, the APSU community of faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends
contributed $75,670.36 to fully fund 17 initiatives—tangible outcomes our students,
faculty and programs can see and build on.”
Per GOVing Tuesday guidelines, funds raised beyond individual project goals will support the relevant Fund of Excellence, ensuring continued investment in student success and innovation.
