CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University alumni Bryce and Jody Sanders recently made a generous contribution to the APSU Foundation to establish the Bryce and Jody Sanders Agriculture Endowment to benefit APSU students.

The scholarship is intended to assist Tennessee residents from Montgomery County, Dickson County, Cheatham County, Robertson County, Stewart County and Houston County. Agriculture majors enrolled full-time at Austin Peay are eligible to receive this funding. To apply, incoming freshmen must have a high school GPA of 3.0 and a minimum ACT composite score of 21. Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.9 to renew the scholarship.

Bryce earned his bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Austin Peay in 1971. He then worked as the manager of Conwood Company, LP, now known as American Snuff Company, from 1972 until his retirement in 2010. Jody graduated from Austin Peay in 1973 and went on to work for South Central Bell Telephone Company. Together they have two sons, Rob and his wife, Dana, of Brentwood, Tennessee, and Will of Clarksville. Over the years, the couple has given back to their alma mater through numerous athletic and academic funds and scholarships.

“As graduates of APSU, Jody and I were provided career opportunities in Clarksville and Montgomery County,” Mr. Sanders said. “We want this scholarship in agriculture to provide assistance and opportunities for others at Austin Peay.

Endowments are permanently restricted funds managed by the Austin Peay State University Foundation. The amount of each scholarship award may vary and will be determined based upon the value of the endowment and the Foundation spending plan.
