Clay Target Club best overall team at southern regional championship

The Clay Target Club of APSU started its inaugural season by winning several first-place awards at the 2019 USA Youth Education in Shooting Sports Southern Regional College Clay Target Championship April 13-14 at the Montgomery County Shooting Complex.
“I am so proud of our first-year club here at Austin Peay,” club president Makayla Boisseau said. “We may be small, but we are a strong group of shooting sports athletes. I have such high expectations for this season and the future to come for this club.”
Club members competing were John Michael Baggett, Hunter Purviance and Wylie Randall. The club’s head coach is Marty Moore. They competed against the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, clay target team, Hiawassee College and Str8 Shooters Clay Team.
The Austin Peay club won the following first-place awards:
Team awards
- High overall collegiate team.
- First place team, skeet.
- First place team, sporting clays.
- First place team, 5 Stand.
- First place individual, skeet (Baggett).
- First place individual, sporting clays (Purviance).
