Alternate Work Arrangements
As directed by APSU Policy 5:010, Alternate Work Arrangements the following procedure is utilized to review and approve or deny requests for alternate work arrangements.
- Requests are initiated by memo from the employee’s supervisor directed to the next level in the supervisory chain. This memo will address the business justification for the alternate work arrangement.
- The Alternate Work Arrangement Agreement form, found on the HR website (Alternate Work Arrangement Agreement) will be drafted and attached (unsigned) to the memo, with signature lines for each level of supervision up to the Executive Authority for the employee’s division. The agreement may be rejected or returned for amendment by anyone in the supervisory chain. Supervisors should consult with Human Resources if there are concerns or questions regarding the agreement.
- If the agreement is approved by each level of supervision, the form is returned to the employee’s supervisor who will obtain the employee’s signature. When all signatures are complete, the Agreement will be sent to Human Resources to be made a part of the employee’s personnel file.
