Institutional Effectiveness Committee

Membership:

The Institutional Effectiveness Committee will be comprised of:

• 2 committee co-chairs and 1 committee co-chair elect recommended by the Provost
• 2 appointees by Student Affairs
• 3 appointees by Finance and Administration
• 3 appointees by Academic Affairs
• 1 appointee by units reporting directly to the President’s Office
• 1 appointee by Military and Veterans Affairs
• 1 Staff Senate appointee
• 1 appointee by Athletics
• Committee Advisor: Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment
• Ex-officio Members:
  • Provost
  • Staff Senate President
  • Student Government Association President
  • 1 appointee by Legal Affairs

Terms of Service:

Members of the committee are appointed for three-year renewable terms. There are no limits on reappointment.

Description:

The committee will support the University’s commitment to establishing outcomes assessment as an ongoing and integral part of its culture and emphasis on quality programs and services. To accomplish this charge, the committee provides oversight, guidelines, and resources for administrative and academic support unit-level implementation of assessment and evaluation activities. The committee reviews departmental institutional effectiveness reports of non-academic units and provides feedback to units to support continuous improvement efforts across campus. The committee’s work supports activities pertaining to SACSCOC standards of institutional effectiveness (7.3 and 8.2c).
