Andrea Spofford is an associate professor in the Department of Languages & Literature and an Associate Dean for the College of Arts and Letters. She writes poems, essays, and multi-genre pieces, many of which are focused on the intersection of the personal and the environmental, the ways in which place seems both local and specific but can also unite our experiences in global, potentially universal ways. Dr. Spofford is part of the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts where she is Poetry Editor for Zone 3 Press (APSU's internationally distributed literary magazine). Additionally, she is the faculty sponsor for Sigma Tau Delta (English honor society) and Red Mud Review (APSU's student-led literary journal).
