Caitlin Shaw

Dr. Shaw is originally from Southern California, where she completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees before moving to Mississippi to pursue her doctorate. During her undergraduate program, she enjoyed her Social Psychology class so much that it motivated her to join a faculty research lab. This research experience paved the way for her to continue her education. Dr. Shaw joined the Department of Psychological Science and Counseling at APSU in the Fall of 2025, and she is excited to work with APSU undergraduate students in her own research lab.

• Applying new methodologies and social psychology theories to broaden understanding about masculinity.

• Examining gender ideologies (e.g., ambivalent sexism) and the downstream consequences.
