Originally from Virginia, Dr. Andrew Richardson serves as Assistant Professor of Percussion at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. His students have gone on to successful careers as percussion specialists, band and orchestra directors, professional performers, and university professors. Andrew is published by Tapspace Publications, Marimba Publications, Inc., Boxfish Music, and in Percussive Notes, the journal of the Percussive Arts Society.
Andrew is an active clinician and has worked with universities and high schools throughout
the central United States. He has performed and presented at the Percussive Arts Society
International Convention, the National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy, the College
Music Society National Conference, Kansas and Oklahoma Music Educators Association
conferences, and several PAS Days of Percussion Festivals. Andrew's writing credits
include marching band percussion arrangements as well as compositions and arrangements
for steel band, percussion ensemble, and solo/chamber percussion.
Dr. Richardson serves on the Education Committee of the Percussive Arts Society, is
a member of the Black Swamp Percussion Educator Network, and is a past-president of
the Oklahoma Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society.
