Supplemental Instruction (SI)
Supplemental Instruction Schedule
What is Supplemental Instruction (SI)?
SI sessions are designed to encourage students to collaborate with peers to develop study strategies, review specific course material, and prepare for exams. SI leaders are students who have successfully completed the course at APSU. They offer support and guidance as students learn material and develop strategies for succeeding in the course. SI leaders are embedded and will attend course lectures to keep up to date on lecture topics, assignments, and information needed for exams.
Why should you attend SI sessions?
-
All students, regardless of GPA or course grade, are encouraged to attend. Attendance is not mandatory but offers many benefits.
-
SI sessions work! Data supports that regular SI participants and students who regularly attend the supported class score a half to full letter grade higher than non-participants.
-
SI sessions not only help students with course material, it also helps students develop the skills they need to further their work at APSU as successful and self-sufficient students.
-
SI gives you exclusive access to trained SI leaders, who help you enhance your understanding of course material.
-
SI is free of charge! All that is required of you is your time, effort, and participation.
