NACE Career Readiness Assessment (powered by Suitable)
Help students understand where they are and and how they can continue to grow. The NACE Career Readiness Assessment (via Suitable) allows students to assess their proficiency across seven career readiness competencies and receive a personalized Career Readiness Report highlighting their current proficiency levels and opportunities for growth.
Faculty and campus partners are encouraged to integrate the assessment into courses, programs, and experiences that include internships, student employment, leadership roles, field experiences, research, study abroad, experiential learning, volunteering, and community service. The assessment can be used before and/or after an experience to help students reflect on their development, recognize career-ready skills they are building, and identify meaningful next steps for growth.
View a sample Career Readiness Report to see what students receive after completing their self-assessment and receiving feedback from an evaluator/observer.
Evaluators/Observers can be anyone who has directly observed a student’s performance and can provide meaningful feedback on their career-readiness skills. This may include supervisors or managers, faculty, staff, coworkers, mentors or advisors, internship or volunteer coordinators, clients or customers, classmates, and other individuals connected to the student’s curricular or co-curricular experience.
Can students complete the assessment more than once or for more than one experience? Yes! Students are encouraged to complete the assessment multiple times throughout their college experience, particularly after meaningful curricular or co-curricular experiences. Each assessment can help students evaluate their career readiness within a specific experience, and track their growth over time. Beginning in Fall 2025, the Career Readiness Assessment is also integrated into the University Success curriculum, providing students with an early baseline of their career readiness.
How can I implement this in my area? Faculty, make sure to contact your designated Career Success Coach for coordination and support for integration into your courses and/or D2L. The assessment is now an available integration on D2L. Campus partners, contact us a csc@apsu.edu.
