Testing Center

The APSU Testing Center adheres to nationally recognized professional testing standards while providing reliable test administration and high quality customer service that facilitates the pursuit of professional and personal educational goals.

ATTENTION Students interested in taking a DSST exam:  Any student who uses the promotional code TAKE17OFF when registering for a DSST exam by January 31, 2017 will receive a $17 discount.  Offer cannot be combined with any other promotion. Promotional code expires January 31, 2017. Standard 90-day retake policy applies. Test takers are responsible for ensuring that their college or university accepts DSST exams for credit.

Please note that as of November 30, 2016, APSU will no longer be administering the COMPASS test.  The Accuplacer assessment will be administered starting December 1, 2016.  For more information regarding Accuplacer, please go to

The Testing Center is located in the Ellington Building, Room 202. The Testing Center offers a variety of tests which include: ACCUPLACER Testing, ACT Residual, CLEP, DSST (DANTES), and the Miller Analogies Test (MAT). Testing information about the national ACT and other tests is available at the Testing Center.

Please Note: A fee is charged for the administration of most of the tests offered at the Testing Center. Please visit the Test Directory and Information page for test-specific fee information.

Proctored Exam Information

The Testing Center also proctors exams for non-TN eCampus (formerly RODP/ROCC) courses taken through other universities for a $10.00 per hour fee, payable upon completion of the test.  Payments are made to the Business Office in the Browning Building and may be made by cash, check, credit/debit card or money order. Additional Information

Please dress in layers so that you can adjust to any room temperature.

Food and drink are not allowed in the Testing Center.

Visitors, including children, are not permitted in the testing room while testing is in progress.  Children may not be left unattended in the Testing Office at any time.

Special Note: If the University is closed due to inclement weather, the Testing Center will be closed. Please call the Testing Center to reschedule your appointment.
