Dr. Kenney earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy from Northwestern University (Illinois).  He later earned master's degrees in classical Greek from Bryn Maw College (Pennsylvania) and in Latin American studies from Tulane University (Louisiana).  He completed his Ph.D., also from Tulane University, in political science.  He joined the faculty of Austin Peay in August 2001.  In addition to serving as the director of PELP, he is a faculty member in APSU's Department of Political Science.

Dr. Kenney's teaching and research interests are wide ranging.  He is currently working on a developmental project with small-scale farmers in northern Haiti, and is exploring ways to involve Austin Peay students in leadership activities in developing countries.
