Welcome and Orientation

Summer/Winter Welcome

Every new student is required to attend Summer/Winter Welcome. During the Welcome program students and parents receive valuable information about APSU, financial aid, and achieving academic success. In addition, students will meet with an academic advisor and register for classes.

Freshman Orientation

Students entering APSU with less than 12 hours of college credit earned at another university must attend Freshman Orientation. During Freshman Orientation, students hear from a variety of speakers about topics vital to college life. In addition, students attend the first several APSU 1000 class sessions.

Transfer Online Orientation:

Students entering APSU with 12 or more hours of college credit earned at another university will be invited to complete the Transfer Online Orientation OR attend and on-campus welcome event; provided APSU has received and evaluated all transcripts. During the Transfer Online Orientation or Transfer Welcome Event, students gain insights into topics important for success at APSU.

Online Orientation:

New students who are enrolling in only online courses or students transferring from another university who are unable to attend the Transfer Orientation should participate in the Online Orientation. This orientation provides valuable information about APSU and tools available to assist students in achieving their academic goals.
