The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at Austin Peay State University offers coding programs for students in grades 3 through 12—plus first-year college students—with two ways to learn: intensive summer camps and Saturday class series that run throughout the school year.

Launch Your Computing Journey
Get hands-on experience in APSU’s state-of-the-art computer labs, learn real college-level materials, and get a sneak peek at campus life. Designed for students in grades 3 through 12 as well as first-year college students, these Saturday class series are taught by APSU Computer Science & IT degree candidates using curriculum built by university professors. All classes are entry-level with no prior coding experience required!
Classes will take place on campus, in the Maynard Mathematics and Computer Science and CoSTEM Technology Buildings. Vaccines are recommended per CDC and TN Department of Health guidelines.

2026-09 September Class 1 - Code Your Own ROBLOX Games - For 3rd graders to 5th graders
Ages: Grades 3-5
Price: $69 (includes drinks)
Registration Deadline: August 31, 2026
Dates: 9/5, 9/12, 9/19 (Saturdays)
Times: 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm (2 hrs instead of 1.5 hrs)

APSU Summer Coding Camps

Have fun and learn a new skill this summer!

Offering beginner-friendly, entry-level camps with no prior experience required, these four or five half-day sessions are open to rising 3rd through 12th graders as well as first-year college students. Can your team survive the end of the world? In this collaborative scenario, students will work together to prepare for and endure an epic survival challenge. In addition to Minecraft gameplay, campers will engage in themed team-building activities that test their leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
