ROW for students entering APSU in Spring 2022 (January start) will be in December and January as well as online. You will receive information for it via your APSU e-mail address.

Students starting in Fall of 2022, you will receive information regarding orientation in March 2022.

We are excited that you have chosen to attend Austin Peay State University! You and your family probably have a lot of questions about APSU and college life in general. During Govs R.O.W., we'll answer your questions, introduce you to academic and support services, show you how to get involved on campus and help you register for classes.

Frequently Asked Questions:

During Govs R.O.W., you will take part in academic advising and work with our R.O.W. Team to register for classes. Govs R.O.W. is mandatory for all incoming first time freshman to attend in person. Transfer students(with more than 12 credit hours coming into APSU not from dual enrollment) have the option to do an Online Orientation.  You'll walk away from Govs R.O.W. with valuable information on how to navigate the upcoming semester, your student I.D., and a free APSU shirt!

Click on the link above to choose your R.O.W Date.  If you need assistance with registration, please call contact the Office of Admissions at 931-221-7661. You will use the email address and password that you used to submit your admissions application to register for your R.O.W. Date. 

More info will be released as orientation approaches. 

In addition to registering for classes, you will be able to:

  • Learn more about living on campus, campus technology and services
  • Get your student I.D. card
  • Opportunity to visit the campus bookstore and preview textbook requirements
  • Meet members of student organizations and learn how to get involved on campus. 
  • Check out our dining venues and meal plans 
  • Complete any other "business," such as visiting financial aid or verifying immunization compliance with Health Services.
 

Yes! We strongly encourage parents and family members to attend. Due to social distancing and capacity restrictions, only 2 guests are allowed per student. Their support, understanding and encouragement can affect your success as a student tremendously.

While you meet with advisers and register for classes, your family members will attend separate sessions that address their particular questions or concerns. Parents may not attend the academic advising session.  

Note: Due to the nature of Govs R.O.W., children and pets (with the exception of service animals) should not attend.

 Yes, you must attend every activity in order to register for classes at the end of the R.O.W session. Freshman R.O.W dates please plan to stay from 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00
Several one-day Govs R.O.W. sessions are offered in June, July and August. Winter R.O.W. dates are offered in December and January.  Register for the earliest date possible.  Attending R.O.W. early will give you more class options, and help you to get your preferred schedule.  Letters will be sent by mail from the Office of Admissions with specific information you need in order to register for a Summer or Winter R.O.W. session. Please review the letter carefully.
You will check in at the Burt Parking lot located next to Fortera Stadium and in front of Burt Elementary School. From check in, our admissions staff will direct you to the parking lot closest to your welcome where our staff will be ready to welcome you.
You can log back in to the portal to change your reservation to a different date. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Admissions  at 931-221-7661 or email admissions@apsu.edu.

For students, the fee for GOVS R.O.W. will be billed automatically to your student account, appearing on your tuition and fees statement as a "new student" fee. New student fees covers all of the events that you attend as a new student, including GOVS R.O.W.

For Parents and Guests, there is no fee to attend for Summer 2021.
