Living on Campus
Five minutes – that’s how far away you’ll be from your next class at the Sundquist Science Complex, your next concert at the Winfield Dunn Center, your next study session at the Woodward Library, your next meal at the MUC, and everything else that’s next for you at The Peay.
Living on campus means living in the middle of it all. Equally important, it means living in a community that cares about you and your success.
Students who live on campus tend to get better grades, get more involved, and have stronger connections to their classmates, according to national research. Come and join us to see for yourself.
Housing
From Castle Heights to Governors Terrace, there’s plenty of on-campus housing options that put you in the center of it all. Select residence halls are available for first-time freshmen, with additional residence halls, apartments, and family housing options available for sophomores and above.
Freshman Housing Requirement
First-time freshmen are required to live on campus as a way to jumpstart academic success. You can apply for a waiver from this requirement if you are 21 years of age or older or if you live within 50 miles of the school.
Dining
Grab a latte at Starbucks, a sandwich at Subway or a personal pizza at the Food Court at MUC. Dining options are abundant at Austin Peay. And whether you live on or off campus, a dining meal plan can provide the best in value and convenience.
Disability Student Success Center
Nothing should stand between you and an accessible university experience with the same access to programs, opportunities, and activities as all others.
The Office of Disability Student Success Center (ODS) provides services for students with physical, mental, or learning disabilities. We also offer several workshops to students and instructors to help develop an awareness and promote a better understanding of students’ needs.
Activities and Involvement
Run for student government, meet new friends in a fraternity or sorority, or write a front-page story for The All State. Make the most of your time at Austin Peay by joining one of our 100+ organizations or clubs and attend any number of our events.
Student organizations provide a valuable service to our community by promoting leadership development, community spirit, activism, public service, and social and cultural interaction.
Arts and Culture
We’re well known for our arts heritage at Austin Peay, from award-winning publications and art exhibitions to our nationally-recognized concert hall. We also developed the state's first Latino Cultural Center.
Athletics and Recreation
Let’s go Peay! (Trust us, it’s not dirty). Watch the Govs and Lady Govs compete in Division I athletics or promote a healthy lifestyle by visiting one of our recreational facilities, including the state-of-the-art Foy Fitness and Recreation Center. An active body is the key to an active mind.
