The mission of APSU Sport Clubs is to promote intercollegiate competition through student organizations as an alternative to varsity sports for the APSU student body, emphasizing strong student leadership and involvement.

As defined in the NIRSA (National Intramural Recreational Sports Association) Club Sports Handbook a sport club is "a group of students voluntarily organized for the purpose of furthering their common interests in an activity through participation and competition." Starting a Sport Club
Any individual(s) interested in forming a sport club must be registered and recognized by University Recreation, as well as Student Life and Engagement. More information on starting a sport club can be found here.
Each club is responsible for determining it's membership requirements and policies. Only undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at APSU are eligible for membership. Membership cannot be restricted based on ability, race, gender, religion, color, nationality, ethnic origin, age, sexual orientation or disability.
Each club is expected to comply with the policy and procedural guidelines adopted by University Recreation, Student Life and Engagement, the Division of Student Affairs, and University administration. The following resources provide more information on these guidelines:
