Austin Peay State University provides academic advisors for every student at the university. Students are required to meet with their advisor before registering for classes each semester. During this meeting, the advisor will provide guidance to help each student reach his or her academic and career objectives. Advisors will also discuss the recommended class schedule for the upcoming semester and will provide the student with the alternate PIN needed in order to register for classes.
Students may email or meet with their advisors as often as needed throughout the semester. The following table shows some of the topics frequently discussed with an advisor. Some information may be obtained from other sources and some actions may require advice from other sources in addition to the advisor.
|Required courses for a degree program|
|Suggested courses for each semester||The academic advisor is the person to talk to about scheduling questions.|
|Plans to withdraw from a course during the semester||In addition to discussing plans to withdraw from a course with their advisor, students should also talk to Financial Aid before withdrawing from any course.|
Freshman students will discuss the role of the advisor and the responsibilities of the student during their APSU 1000 course.
The following advisors are available for online students. If you are not able to contact your designated advisor, please do not hesitate to contact the other advisor with any questions or concerns you have.
