Long-time Child Learning Center employee becomes assistant director
December 17, 2001
A New York native has been named assistant director of the Child Learning Center (CLC) at Austin Peay.
Effective Oct. 1, Kim Santulli filled this new position.
Santulli spent four years in the U.S. Navy after graduating from high school. The GI Bill allowed her to pursue a college degree at East Tennessee State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in home economics with an emphasis in early childhood.
After moving to Clarksville, Santulli was the education/handicap/transportation coordinator at Headstart for four years.
She came to the CLC in 1991 as a temporary employee before being appointed childcare aide 2. Two years ago, Santulli was named childcare specialist at the CLC, where her duties included assisting teachers, serving as a mentor and coordinating the summer school program.
As assistant director, Santulli is responsible for the daily operation of the CLC, including supervising, scheduling and training the staff; developing programs to promote parent involvement; supervising the implementation of the curriculum; and advocating and planning programming for the University's non-traditional student population.
Santulli and her husband, Joe, have two grown sons, Justin and Ryan.
