Honors program students released from out-of-state tuition burden
October 23, 2000
Effective next semester, all Honors Program students will pay in-state tuition--regardless of their state or country of residence.
The change is being implemented to bring APSU in compliance with TBR policy, which states that students selected to participate in the institutions' honors programs are not required to pay out-of-state tuition.
The new policy opens limitless territories for recruitment of top students outside Tennessee and Kentucky.
According to Interim President Sherry Hoppe, “Future award letters or contracts with out of-state honors program students should stipulate that they will not be required to pay the out of-state tuition as long as they participate in the four-year honors program."
