Gourmet dinner and "Honk" part of Theatre Scholarship Benefit
November 5, 2001
The Friends of AP Playhouse will present the fifth annual Theatre Scholarship Benefit Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Trahern Fine Arts Building.
The event will begin with wine and hors d'oeuvres from 6-6:30 p.m., followed at 6:30 by a gourmet buffet dinner featuring Cornish hens. A brief program will follow, then patrons will move to the Trahern Theatre, where they will enjoy the AP Playhouse production of "Honk!, a delightful musical comedy for young and old based on the story of "The Ugly Duckling."
Tickets are $40 per person, and tables of eight may be reserved. The deadline for reservations is Monday, Nov. 12. Those interested in attending should respond quickly, as only a limited number of seats are available.
All proceeds benefit the endowed theatre scholarship fund at Austin Peay. The four previous events have netted more than $37,000 for the theatre scholarship endowment fund.
Theatre supporters who cannot attend the benefit but would like to make a donation can send a contribution to the Theatre Scholarship Benefit, P. O. Box 4446, APSU, Clarksville, TN 37944.
This year's event has been made possible by the efforts of planning committee members Dr. Ellen Kanervo, Inga Filippo, Dr. Sara Gotcher, Helen Griffin, Nancy Hancock, Suella Arrington, Chris Crow, Sally Welch, Linda Allgood, Shelia Boone, Leni Dyer, Lorraine Pratt and Lilo Rogoish.
