General Music

The General Music Class provides a solid musical foundation incorporating math, language arts, and other subjects into a well-grounded music curriculum. Students sing, move, listen, read and write music, and play instruments through a series of engaging lessons and activities. In the spring semester the General Music Class is taught by senior-level APSU music education majors and supervised by Dr. Eric Branscome, APSU Coordinator of Music Education. In the fall semester, the General Music class is taught by Briana Larsen. Ms. Larsen is an early childhood music specialist and is currently pursuing a master's degree in music education. Previously, Ms. Larsen taught elementary/general music at Burt Elementary School and has extensive experience leading early childhood music classes in the community.
