Joe Mills

I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1984 with my undergraduate degree and 1986 with my graduate degree in Student Personnel/Counseling.  My professional experience includes work at Texas Tech University as a professional hall director, an Area Coordinator at Appalachian State University and my current job at Austin Peay State University as Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs/Director of Housing.

I am active member of ACUHO- I, SEAHO and TACUHO.  Our department is committed to making sure the on campus experience is a positive one not only for the student, but their entire family.

Oversees long range planning, goals, and objectives for entire office.  Development and management of Housing budget, master plan, marketing plan, and departmental assessment plan.  Facility management of Housing projects.  AP Day/Summer Welcomes.  Supervision of professional and support staff for office.  Develop and oversee residential communities to create engaging learning environments.  Development and implementation of dept crisis and risk management plan.

Kim Morrow

Kimberley Morrow has served as the Associate Director of Housing/Residence Life and Dining Services since 2007. She earned her BA from the University of South Alabama and went on to obtain her MS from Jacksonville State University. She received her Ed.S in Administration and Supervision from Austin Peay State University in 2011.

Supervisor of Residence Life staffing/programs/living learning communities. CHO in absence of Director. Direct Supervisor of the AC Staff. Hearing Officer for formal discipline. Coordinator of contract release and damage appeals process. AP Days/Summer Welcomes presentations. Manages the programming budget. Early arrival and late stay approval. Survey creation and Data Collection for Residence Life. Movie and Info Channel oversight.

Sue Fort

Assistant Director of Housing Operations

I graduated from Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky with a Masters in Public Administration while working at Austin Peay State University. During my 30 plus years of employment, I started out working in Student Affairs as a clerk typist with Austin Peay State University and have received several promotions down through the years.

Currently, I supervise one clerical staff and a Data Analyst. Other job responsibilities includes: overseeing main campus housing assignments, overseeing Residential Management System (RMS) management software, implementation of emergency housing bid; overflow housing/contract administration; coordinating athletic housing with coaches; overseeing housing department’s Great Change Day /Room Change Administration, overseeing correct execution of occupancy reports, and the processing of resident housing cancellations/withdrawals.

Cecil Wilson

Cecil graduated from Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and a Concentration in Accounting. After several years of work in the corporate accounting field, Cecil returned to Austin Peay in 2009 to serve as the Assistant Director of Housing Services. This wasn’t the first time he worked for APSU Housing. As a student, Cecil served for several years as a Resident Assistant (RA) in Rawlins Hall and Harvill Hall. Right before returning to Austin Peay in 2009, Cecil fulfilled a life-long dream of working and living in Samoa, a small Pacific island chain nation in the South Pacific Ocean. While there he learned a lot of the language and culture that makes Samoa so unique among the Pacific Islands. Coming from a military family, Cecil has lived in several different places including Hawaii and Germany. He loves to travel, especially internationally. A recent trip took him to Italy where he visited Rome, Venice, Pisa and Florence.

Mark Lee

Data Analyst

I graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Master’s Degree. I joined Austin Peay since December 2011 and work in the office of Housing/Residence Life & Dining Services.
I analyze and report results of housing Data. RMS maintenance and monitor daily to optimize data quality. Web development/maintenance of housing webpages. Weekly housing applications reports. Data manage on room assignments and meal plans. Marketing and recruitment efforts for all new students. Banner and Argos report writing and/or other reports needed from the Division of Student Affairs. Resolve any Housing’s technology related issues. Development of web forms/survey creation, and data collection assessment Information Technology representative for Student Affairs.

Lilian Obi

Area Coordinator

Dr. Obi is an Area Coordinator in the Office of Housing/Residence Life & Dining Services. She came to APSU in 2003 after serving for two years as Hall Coordinator at the University of Iowa. She has also worked at University of Northern Illinois and Montana State University. Originally from Nigeria, she graduated from University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. degree in Administrative Management and an M. Ed degree in Business Education from Bowling Green State University, Ohio. She completed her Ph.D. degree in Higher Education Administration at Illinois State University. Before working in Residence Life, Dr. Obi served as a college faculty member (mostly in Nigeria) for seven years. Her hobbies include reading (favorite book is the Bible), listening to Christian music, cooking and playing scrabble. She has a daughter who is an Alumni of APSU and was a star athlete in High School and also at APSU.

Management of guest apartments. RHD Supervision (documentation, employee discipline). Assignments/Billing for Emerald Hill apartments. Create/revise notes for living – Emerald Hill/Marion Street. Student Staff selection and payroll (HR paperwork, loading of scholarships) RHD’s and RA’s. 24 hour on call rotation. Teach RA class. Informal discipline hearing/files. Hiring/Supervision of Emerald Hill office workers. Assist in staff training.

Leslie Barger

I was raised in Carrier Mills, IL and graduated from Murray State University in Murray, KY where I received my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry/Pre-Med. While at MSU, I was heavily involved on campus. In 2001-2004, I was a Resident Assistant. As a Resident Assistant, I loved working with students, so my career plans changed from going to medical school to wanting to work in Student Affairs at the University level. Upon graduation, I became a Graduate Assistant Residence Hall Director at the University of Central Arkansas where I received my Master of Science in College Student Personnel Services and Administration. After graduate school, I worked at Southeast Missouri State University for 3 years as a Hall Director and now I am the Area Coordinator for Housing at APSU. I have been here since August of 2009 and have loved every minute being at Austin Peay. I work with the Residence Hall Association, as well as have many great staff members. Go Govs!

Supervise Hall Directors. Management of confiscation/storage items. Send letters/dispose. Summer Camp scheduling/billing. Summer School staff supervision and oversight. Summer Camps/Summer Welcome staffing and assignments. TEMP cards for all summer camps. 24 hour on call rotation. Assist in staff hiring. Coordinate staff training (book rooms, food, materials) Teach RA training class. Supervise and coordinate LLC/LLC Director.

Tracey Webb

Hi! I’m Tracey Webb born and raised in Clarksville. I am the proud mother of two teenage sons (yikes!) Caleb and Joshua. I love working in Housing/Residence Life especially the interaction with all the wonderful students and parents at APSU!

Main office receptionist. One card – housing access (key/swipe card). Key (loaner) inventory/on-line system. In house work orders – submit, process. Marketing plans, ALL STATE Ads, Powerpoint presentations, other media assigned by AVP/Dir. Residency Exemption forms/correspondence. COS minutes- creation and distribution. Room reservationist ML 109/111. Prepare leave reports for entire office/Foy/CLC for AVP approval. Special projects for AVP.

Mary Waller

Administrative Assistant II

Mary Waller received her Secretarial Diploma in 1987 from Bowling Green State Community College aka Bowling State Voc-Technical School and currently working towards my B.S. in Organizational Business Management from Bethel University.

I am native of Cadiz, Kentucky; has served as Administrative Assistant 3 for the College of Business for 7 years and currently serving as Administrative Assistant 2 for Housing/Residence Life & Dining Services over 3 years for a total of over 10 years; serving in ministry for over 27 years; served as Church Evangelist 17 years; District Evangelist 5 years and Associate Pastor for 2 years; currently serving as a local Pastor for over 3 years. My responsibilities in the Housing consist of the following: Open and close judicial cases of housing residents, process contract releases, update and maintain central office manual.

Cliff Gaines

Maintenance Mechanic

Cliff attended Austin Peay State University from 1982 through 1984 where he majored in Art. He also attended Chattahoochee Technical College as a student and taught 3D Animation and Visual as an adjust professor. Cliff has competed in several animation competitions sponsored by D.E.C.A. Cliff served in the U.S. Army reserves for six year. Cliff enjoys reading, drawing and building computers for high-end digital graphics processing. With over fifteen years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repairing, we’re glad he is part of the Austin Peay Housing team.

Trouble-shoot and repair Dining Services equipment. Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections. Serve as point of contact for all Dining Services contracted work. Install and maintain new equipment. Test and operate all equipment. Maintain exhaust fans and vents for Dining Services. Maintain Dining Services plumping lines. Maintain Dining Services equipment inventory. Determine any need for replacing old equipment.
