Minors

Coaching Minor

The purpose of the coaching minor is for students who have an interest in seeking community or public/private school coaching opportunities.  All undergraduate degree seeking students are eligible to complete the minor which is 18 hours of prescribed courses.

Required Courses:
HHP 2000 First Aid, CPR, and Safety
HHP 3050 Coaching Strategies and Issues
HHP 3300 Anatomical Kinesiology
HHP 4040 Sport Psychology
HHP 4240 Motor Learning
Three semester hours required from the following (3 hours):
HHP 3155 Teaching Individual and Dual Sports
HHP 3165 Teaching Team Sports
PSY 4060 Group Dynamics
LDSP 2100 Foundations of Leadership
SOC 3250 Social Institutions: Sport

 

Health Minor

The health minor provides students who have selected a major within or outside the department the opportunity to complement their primary area of study. The minor consists of 18 semester hours, of which at least 12 hours must be upper division (i.e. 3000 or 4000 level courses).

Physical Education Minor

The physical education minor provides students who have selected a major within or outside the department the opportunity to complement their primary area of study. The minor consists of 18 semester hours selected from designated departmental courses.
