Faculty Advising Program

Academic Affairs, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Center for Extended and Distance Education co-sponsor the Faculty Advising Program, which recognizes the importance of excellence in advising at Austin Peay. In exchange for a course release, the Faculty Advising Program offers an opportunity for selected faculty to study advising strategies that can enhance student success at Austin Peay. 

The inauguaral cohort of faculty was selected for participation in the Faculty Advising Program by the Faculty Development Committee, chaired by Kay Haralson. Accepted applicants met 1-4:30 p.m. each Tuesday of the fall semester. Additional responsibilities included completing weekly assignments,creating presentations on student development theories, participating in a breakthrough model incubator project, and delivering a proposal for their breakthrough advising idea to top administrators of the university.
