Telescopes, mounts and observing aides PowerPoint Presentation: PowerPoint or PDF

During the semester you will be required to attend at least one First Quarter Night. If you do not attend a 1st Quarter Night, your Observations Report will be worth, at most, half the maximum possible (at most 2 out of the possible 4 points). The First Quarter nights will be held in the Sundquist Science Complex Tommy Head Atrium with observing in the Archwood parking lot next to the Sundquist Science Complex if it is clear. There will be no cancellation of 1st Quarter Nights. The schedule is:

                Monday
 September 17 @ 7:30pm

             Wednesday
 September 19 @ 7:30pm

                      Saturday October 20 @ 7:30 PM

              Tuesday
  November 13 @ 7:30pm

              Thursday
  November 15 @ 7:30pm

Due to the number of students enrolled in the introductory astronomy courses and to encourage you to attend the earlier observing nights, the last two 1st Quarter nights the two in November) will be restricted to the first 50 students to sign the attendance sheets. You may attend but if you aren’t one of the first 50 to sign the attendance sheets you won’t receive credit for attending.
