Woodwind Ensemble to perform April 5

Austin Peay State Universitys Woodwind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Stephen Clark, professor of music, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 5 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall.

The concert, sponsored by the APSU Department of Music and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, is free and open to the public.

The ensemble personnel includes Nathan Givens, Nigel Brown, Brandi Jones, Janet Clark, Christine Patraw, Marlana Nyholt, Clorissa Young and Emily Tragle. Elizabeth Wolynec will accompany on piano.

The ensemble will perform selections by Handel, Osterling, Haydn, Nestico, Tchakovsky, Bach and Claude T. Smith.

Although the concert is composed primarily of selections for the clarinet choir and quartet, there are notable exceptions with the clarinet duo of Clorissa Young and Emily Tragle featured on pieces by Crusell and Mendelssohn. Also, Tragle will perform a piece for unaccompanied clarinet by Academy Award-winning composer, Miklos Rozsa.
