William and Mary students boost profs' salaries

December 9, 2003

According to The Washington Post, when William and Mary senior Brian Cannon discovered one of his favorite profs was leaving for a higher-paying job and then learned that 13 professors had done the same over the past year, the student body president did something about it.

Cannon organized a successful student referendum to raise next years student activity fee by $5 to about $80. The extra money will be used for salary bonuses for professors to make up for the states freezing of faculty raises.
