“This concert features a tribute to the late band composer, Alfred Reed, who passed away late last year. We will feature two of the hundreds of works he composed and arranged,” says Brown.
In addition to Reed's tribute, the band also will perform works by Yo Goto, John Barnes Chance, Eric Whitacre, Jacob de Haan and Adam Gorb.

“This ensemble is a traditional ‘campus band.' Its members are music majors, music minors, nonmusic majors, as well as music education majors on secondary instruments performing at a high level. The musical selections are a mixture of literature standards and new works by current band composers,” says Brown.

Salley is in his fourth year as band director at Creek Wood High School in White Bluff. He graduated with honors from APSU in 2001 with a degree in instrumental music education. Salley is working on a Master of Arts in Music from APSU.

Grace has worked four years as band director at West Hopkins Accelerated School and is assistant director at Hopkins County Central High School, both in Kentucky. She received a B.S. in Music Education from APSU in 1998. Grace is working on a M.A. in Instrumental Conducting at APSU.
