Socrates Awards to remain part of Winter Commencement

April 22, 2002

The April 15 issue of "InnerAction" inaccurately reported that the Socrates Awards would be moved to Spring Commencement. The Academic Awards and Honors Committee voted to leave presentation of those awards in the Winter Commencement, according to Dr. Camille Holt. "They felt there were too many presentations scheduled for the spring," she said, "and more importantly, the Socrates Awards recognize excellence in teaching for each college. So it will remain part of the Winter Commencement ceremony."
