Shelia Boone, director of alumni and annual giving, Dennie Burke, executive director of public relations and marketing, Debbie Denton, assistant director of public relations and marketing, and Heather Legg, development officer for University advancement, attended the 2004 Tennessee Advancement Resources Council/Tennessee College Public Relations Association Summer Conference July 22-23 at Belmont University, Nashville.

Dr. Dewey A. Browder, chair of department of history and philosophy, has a featured article in the Summer 2004 issue of Reform Judaism. The article, "Barriers: The Lessons of History," traces the use of walls for defensive purposes throughout history and evaluates their effectiveness.

Heather Legg, development officer for University advancement, attended a Major Gifts Seminar July 8 at the Center for Non-Profit Management.

Dr. Jennifer Meningall, vice president for student affairs, directed the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators Mid-Manager's Institute in June at Duke University. It was her second time directing the program.

Nancy Snyder has joined the faculty of the Felix G. Woodward Library as the instructional technology librarian. Snyder comes to APSU from Indiana University, where she earned dual M.L.S./M.I.S. degrees in December 2003. Her areas of specialization include library technology, information architecture and usability.
