Lori Buchanan, instructional services librarian, has contracted with the Association of College and Research Libraries to teach Assessing Student Learning Outcomes online for up to six times through 2005. Buchanan will team-teach the class once in March and again in July with librarians from Colgate University and the University of Cincinnati. The March seminar is full and has a waiting list.

Dr. Ramon Magrans, professor of Spanish, spoke to the Grupo Empresarial de Morelos, the business association of the state of Morelos, on the economic contributions of language programs last summer in Mexico. He also addressed the Tercer Congreso Académico de la Universidad Internacional on the development of language and exchange programs.

Judy Springer, secretary for the Educational Opportunity Center, has passed the specialist exams in MS Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel Microsoft Office programs at Austin Peay's Center for Extended and Distance Education.

Rip Watts and Heather Legg, both development officers for University Advancement, spoke to the Elkton (Ky.) Rotary Club about Peay Pride last Wednesday, Feb. 11.
