Associate Professor of Geography Dr. Sergei Andronikov successfully completed training to became an ESRI-certified instructor, a designation that gives him an opportunity to teach advanced ArcGIS classes and award a professional GIS ESRI Certificate. The ESRI Authorized Training Program (ATP) authorizes qualified individuals to offer GIS software courses developed and tested by ESRI. ESRI-authorized instructors attract students who are eager to learn ESRI software and know ESRI's reputation for excellence in GIS education. The designation also gives APSU the opportunity to become an Authorized GIS Learning Center.


WTVF, Channel 5, the CBS-affiliated network in Nashville, turned to Dr. Malcolm Muir, professor of history, and Dr. Dewey Browder, professor and chair of the history department, twice this week for information on Iraq. Muir was interviewed regarding safety and security problems. Browder discussed the challenges of postwar reconstruction.
