Dr. Stephen Truhon, assistant professor of psychology, was awarded the 2007 J.R. Kantor Rsearch Fellowship from the University of Akron in Ohio.
The fellowship will enable Truhon to visit the universitys archives for his research on important African-American psychologists in the first half of the 20th century.

Dr. Culley Carson-Grefe, associate professor of French and Spanish, attended the conference, Desmarginalización y Nuevas Corrientes Literarias y Linguísticas en América Latina, Aug. 2-4 at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru. She presented a paper, titled “Monique Wittig: El Cero Embarazado,” at the conference.

Dr. Sergei A. Markov, assistant professor of biology, has had two papers published over the summer.

His paper, “Biohydrogen: potential of using algae and bacteria for molecular hydrogen production” was published in the International Scientific Journal of Alternative Energy and Ecology.

Markov co-authored the paper, “Recruitment of RNA polymerase II in the Ifng gene promoter correlates with the nuclear matrix association in activated T helper cells,” in the Journal of Molecular Biology.
